Nestled in County Meath is a quaint town. In this quaint town there's an ancient kingdom. In this ancient kingdom there are old bridges and walls. The ceilings to connect the walls are long gone and light can finally rain down on the cold floors. The sun warmed my face the other day as I looked out over the flat country skin of Trim.

How many people have stood here since the 12th Century and felt the same sun? The same brutal winter wind? A bow and arrow to the chest?

I wonder too, how many people felt like these walls were there home. No matter how majestic, no matter how grand or breath-taking the views were - how could they still be unhappy? If this castle was ever a true home, I wonder how it could act as the opposite by repelling humans who sought out a life of their own.

My sunny stroll on the grounds inspired me to consider my own legacy. What will be left of me in 1,000 years? I have too many questions to too many answers that don't matter. My kingdom is in my head, my home is in my heart. The words I say and the words I write will never come apart.
