Cake, Color and Juice

Cake, color and juice. That's what's new at the Biking.ie cabin in Ticknock Forest. If you've been up there, you know that the carrot cake (plus a Fixx coffee) are synonymous with the cabin. But what about the newest arrivals - coffee cake and lemon? I'm a devoted chocolate-only dessert girl, so it says a lot when a yellow and white cake tempt me. After a 5km leg of my hike, I needed a sugar boost and the lemon cake did the trick. It's perhaps a Plain Jane in terms of looks in comparison to its big sister, Carrot Cake, but the flavor more than makes up for it. It's zesty and refreshing, feeling like a fluffy frosted morning muffin on your tongue. There's a sweet lemonade vibe happening as well. This will make it tough to decide which cake to have in the future.

Let's not let the cake take the spotlight off the new juices either. While I didn't try one, they certainly brighten up the fridge and add a splash of powerful nutrients to boost your activities. The beet red and sunny orange juice pair nicely with the new pink and green biking.ie cabin. Everywhere you look, there's something new! Even the physical layout of the forest is changing everyday, with felled trees and fresh bike trails carving the loamy land. If you haven't checked out this Dublin gem, now is the time. And if you have, look more closely for the subtle changes and let me know what you find.
